I have an error with a backup (name ClaudeNew) (I have 9 regular backup …same encoding, same source (different folder), same destination…same option of backup (alert, mail…)
The alert is :
Échec du déchiffrement des données (phrase de passe invalide ?) : Message has been altered, do not trust content
If I do the maintenance of the local base of the Backup ClaudeNew like :
Repair : the backup can be made one time but after I have the error
Regen and repair : it is the same, the backup can be made one time but after I have the error who reappears…
Don’t ever keep multiple Duplicati backups in the same destination, but you might mean different folders there. What is the Storage Type of the destination? Whatever it is may be corrupting files.
When I say same destination I would like say same destination (pcloud)
But all my backup take different folders and the backup goes into a different folder too
I have a backup (ClaudeNew) who take folder 1, folder 2 and folder 3 (for example)
And the bakuping is done on Pcloud on a folder named ClaudeNew
I have a backup (TotoNew) who take folder 4, folder 5 and folder 6 (for example)
And the bakuping is done on Pcloud on a folder named TotoNew
I am not sure exactly how you got into this situation, but the error message simply states that whatever data you are trying to decrypt has been altered in some way.
This means that the key is correct and contents can be decrypted, but parts of the file does not contain the expected contents. The most likely cause is corrupt storage.
However, Duplicati should be able to detect that the hash of the file has changed since it was uploaded, in case it is corrupted, so I would expect the original error to be related to remote storage not having correct files. If you delete the local database and then repair from that, you loose the hashes of files before upload, and you would not see it before you attempt to decrypt the files.
I would suggest renaming or removing the offending file from the remote destination and then attempting to use “purge broken files” to get back to a working state.
pCloud natively supported by Duplicati? discusses the unreliability of WebDAV usage,
although there was a comment there about a European server that was more reliable.
Recovering by purging files discusses a generic path of recovery from corrupted files.
Removing the corrupted file triggers it. Do you know the names? If not, try watching in

A concern is you might have other corrupted files. The download-to-check is a sample.
If it stays away awhile, great. You might want to raise backup-test-samples (default is just 1). backup-test-percentage is another way to get more intensive checking of file integrity awhile.
I don’t know if it will increase downloading or if data will come from cache on drive somehow.
The TEST command can run this sort of test occasionally on demand, if you prefer that plan.
upload-verification-file uploads a file which can be passed to utility-scripts\DuplicatiVerify.ps1
This option uses local file access, which possibly (results may vary) way to test all of the files.
