Hi guys,
I have a Synology DS220+ NAS with DSM 7.2.2. I installed Duplicati 1-2 years ago by following the instructions here:
Container Manager shows “latest” version. But Duplicati is still version
2.0.8.1_beta_2024-05-07
It shows a red error message when loggin into Duplicati:
Manual update required
Manual update found: https://duplicati.com/download
I’m not sure how to update to the latest version (which I don’t even know what version it could be for Synology-users). Do you have any advice? Do I even have to update or can I just ignore this message?
Thanks!
That guide is using the LinuxServer Duplicati image.
That image and versions is controlled by the LinuxServer group.
You can interact with them here: GitHub - linuxserver/docker-duplicati
That is a bit odd, because I can see that they have 2.1.0.5 as the latest image:
Is there any way you can force container manager to fetch the latest tag?
For Docker usage, the latest version follows the regular “latest” which is currently 2.1.0.5. For Synology users without Docker, there is not currently a native installation that works with the latest DSM.
I would strongly recommend updating as we do have many fixes for edge cases, as well as general security and best-practice updates in the newer images.
