Unexpected difference in fileset error

Hello!

I am using duplicati (2.1.0.5_stable_2025-03-04) to backup to an S3 compatible object storage for the last couple months. Everything went fine for a while but now I am getting the following error:

Unexpected difference in fileset version 5: 24.03.2025 17:13:43 (database id: 8), found 460266 entries, but expected 460270

Unexpected difference in fileset version 4: 16.05.2025 16:49:21 (database id: 15), found 484237 entries, but expected 484241

Unexpected difference in fileset version 2: 26.05.2025 19:26:22 (database id: 18), found 486921 entries, but expected 486923

Unexpected difference in fileset version 1: 11.06.2025 19:57:37 (database id: 21), found 480604 entries, but expected 480606

Interestingly fileset version 3 as well as the latest version 0 seem to be unaffected. I am not really sure what the different database repair/rebuild options do and the manual is of very limited help.

So what are correct steps to do in this kind of situation?

Hi @fabi, welcome to the forum :waving_hand:

The latest experimental and and canary builds have an updated repair mechanism that can fix this problem, as well as checks to prevent it from happening again.

If you can update to either version, then run the “Repair” command and it should fix the issue.
