Problem restoring with new interface

I recently backed-up files from a Windows computer to an external cloud server. Now I wanted to restore these files on a different computer running Linux (via restore from config file and direct restore).

With the new interface, whenever I get to the screen where I am supposed to select the files to restore, the file selection window only shows a few top folders of my backup, but no sub-folders or individual files contained therein. This makes restoring individual sub-folders or files impossible.

With the legacy interface, however, this issue does not exist, as I can select and restore all sub-folders and files. Same if I use a computer running the same OS as the one I used to do the backup, no problems with the new interface then.

I also have this problem the other way round, when I try to restore files I backed-up to an external server from a Linux computer, onto a Windows computer. Same with a backup of my Synology NAS, also stored on an external server - with the new interface there is no way to access sub-folders and files from a Windows computer.

Maybe someone could look into this, please? I would really like to use the new interface instead of the legacy one. Thanks!

Cross-OS restores can loose the directory/file distinction #449
is an open issue on the new UI that reminds me of this report.

I suppose you can go and see whether your symptoms match.

There seem to be different icons for folder (looks like a tabbed manilla folder),
compared to files. GitHub issue for me showed folders, but with a file icon, i.e.

and while getting that, there’s apparently also a folder icon with an “open” look:

This must be the issue I had, thanks! I will keep using the legacy interface then.
