Is there any way to skip files older than a certain date? I’m backing up a few folders containing very very old files, and there’s not need to save those antiques with the rest.

Filter question answered this with there being no direct way. The wish was “only files created or modified after certain date will be backed up” which is another way of phrasing your wish. Though it’s the opposite direction, there’s also a script at How to backup files older than X days that you could convert (if you’re using Windows).
