Duplicati 2.3 (Stable) – Now with SaaS Backups, Multiple Destinations, and major pricing updates!

Hi everyone,

We are thrilled to announce the official release of Duplicati 2.3 (Stable)!

This is a massive milestone for the project. Thanks to the incredible support of our community - through bug reports, code contributions, and feedback - this version brings some of the most requested features to the table, including native support for cloud productivity suites and a much simpler way to achieve a 3-2-1 backup strategy.

What’s New in 2.3 Stable?

  • SaaS Backup (Office 365 & Google Workspace): You can now back up entire tenants, including Mail, OneDrive/Drive, Teams, SharePoint, and more. This has been a long-requested feature and we’re excited to bring it to the stable branch.

  • Multiple Backup Destinations: You can now configure a single job to back up to multiple locations simultaneously. This makes it incredibly easy to set up a 3-2-1 backup strategy (e.g., local disk + cloud) in one go.

  • Remote File Locking (Immutability): Protect your data against ransomware. On supported backends (S3, Azure, B2, GCS, iDrive e2), you can now enable object locking to prevent files from being deleted or modified for a set duration.

  • Windows Folder Status Indicators: See the status of your backups directly in Windows Explorer with new icon overlays.

  • Full Disk Backup (Experimental): Initial support for backing up entire disks (Windows only for now), including MBR/GPT partition tables.

  • Templating Engine for Reporting: Use Handlebars templates to create beautifully formatted custom email reports.

Exciting Changes to the Duplicati Console

Alongside this release, we are making some major updates to our Console service to make professional backup management more accessible to everyone.

    We are cutting our subscription costs by more than half!
  • Yearly Subscription: Now just $2 per machine/month.
  • Monthly Subscription: Now available for just $2.50 per machine/month.
  • Existing Pro customers: Your prices are adjusted automatically for the next billing cycle.
  1. More Features for Subscribers
    A console subscription now includes more features than before:
  • Backup Logs & Monitoring: Deep-dive into operation history and get real-time status alerts.
  • Remote Management: Manage your Duplicati instance from within the console.
  • Configuration Links: Streamline deployments with setup links.
  • Multi-User Access: Collaborate by granting team members access to your console.
  1. Office 365 and Google Workspace Backup pricing
    Backing up Office 365 and Google Workspace accounts is priced at $0.50 per mailbox/user per month.

Important Note on the Free Plan
To focus our resources on maintaining these new features, we are adjusting the Console Free Plan. The plan now supports up to 2 machines (previously 5) and no longer includes remote management.

We want to make this transition easy: All existing active free users have been granted a 30-day grace period to adjust their setups. If you need more time to reorganize or test the new features, please reach out to our support team for an extension.
