Where are the "Default Filters" documented

I recently tried to backup my Linux server’s /etc directory and checked the Linux default filter thinking it exclude the usual file types (*.o, *~, [Cc]ache**, .git**). I found, however, that the entire contents of /etc/ were excluded.
I’m not here to debate what should or shouldn’t be in a default filter, just want to know what they are, so I can use the filter without surprised by other less obvious excludes.

I’ve feature requests for the default filters, but no lists of what they include.
