Good news! So I decided to just bypass the stupid unraid junk, and try it from my external hdd and restore to my secondary nvme on Windows… and it worked. So… I think thats my way. But I only did one file, so, I’ll have to see how it goes restoring all of it. But its a success.
Looks like we have lift off @ts678 ! Pretty sure this was going to work. And honesty, if you hadn’t mentioned it in passing, I wouldn’t have picked up on it to attempt this. So thank you for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it, and you.
I’m happy it worked, but not sure why it glitched in the other configuration.
The destination files are the same (I assume), but Unraid is running Linux.
It (actually the old system) was backing up OK. Did it ever restore before?
Regardless, good news to seemingly be on the way to getting the file data.
I’m not sure how much Linux metadata can be written onto a Windows file.
I don’t think Duplicati translates Linux permissions to (e.g.) Windows ACLs.
Yeah… same files, same ‘config’, I had never tried restoring though… but yeah windows restored just fine with the files from linux. Very strange. There were some errors, with amd chipset driver’s oddly enough but, yeah. Other than that was just fine.
