Unexpected difference in fileset version

Hi,

i’ve been getting an error for the last few days:

Duplicati.Library.Interface.UserInformationException: Unexpected difference in fileset version 1: 1/07/2020 12:40:00 (database id: 3), found 21580 entries, but expected 21604

i already did DATABASE → DELETE and REPAIR

the effect was:

The database was attempted repaired, but the repair did not complete. This database may be incomplete and the backup process cannot continue. You may delete the local database and attempt to repair it again.

what’s even worse - now the backup log is empty - cannot even see past successful backups.
after clicking “SHOW” on error message - i see empty page.

After clicking about → Show Log i can read verbose version of the error

trying to run backup manually produces another error:
Recreated database has missing blocks and 1 broken filelists. Consider using “list-broken-files” and “purge-broken-files” to purge broken data from the remote store and the database.

Update:
i did “purge-broken-files”
And now backup is running properly…
still - no idea what happened to my backup, and why did i have to purge remote files…

Running commandline entry
Finished!

Uploading file (1.61 MB) …
Deleting file duplicati-20200701T054000Z.dlist.zip.aes …
Return code: 0

Yes, recreating the database will remove backup logs. (The logs are stored only in that database and not in the back end data.)

Normally the “fix” for this unexpected difference issue is to just run the “delete” command with “–version=X” where X is the version number reported in the error (in your case “1”).

Are you running version 2.0.5.1_beta? If you are using an older beta, upgrading may help. The 2.0.5.1_beta version has some fixes that reduce (but not eliminate, sadly) occurrences of this issue.

Yes. i’m using Duplicati - 2.0.5.1_beta_2020-01-18

seems those issues are not resolved there…
