I’m using Duplicati with Linux Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS.
Where I reading that a new Version 2.1.0.5_stable_2025-03-04 is available I make
a Download and Install with the ‘apt-command’.
Now the Problem is that I’m not sure what a Version is working. They a different
notice I found. One Hardcopy show the Generally and say it is
“Version 2.1.0.4_stable_2025-01-31”, that was working before Download and Install
and the other Hardcopy tell me in the changelog that is
“Version 2.1.0.5_stable_2025-03-04”
Who bring me Light in the Darkness?
Did you restart Duplicati anywhere in this sequence? If not, please restart it.
Linux is able to continue using deleted files, such as old version of Duplicati.
This only works while a file is still open. The changelog is likely a new open.
If you want to dig into this, run pmap on Duplicati’s PID to look for deleted.
Example from a copy of /usr/bin/sleep that I started, then deleted under run:
Restarting Duplicati depends on how you run it. If TrayIcon, Quit then start.
For systemd service started at boot, sudo systemctl restart duplicati. Installing Duplicati on Linux shows that, plus related commands you can use.
Since Duplicati is not a single file, restart to get it all on same version is best.
Potentially a mixed version could confuse the program, as it confuses a user.
Hi ts, that’s with “Quit” and then new Start was helpfull. In my mint was only “Logout” in the Mainmenu and then I was thinking that’s enough. But now all is ready and does work in the right Version
