The “Search or ask” box seems to make a URL, and direct URL access that way also hangs.

The problem seems to come and go. Right now it’s pretty solid.
Hmm, it looks like a caching issue. It was stalling for me and I cleared the browser cache and then it worked.
Is that similar for you?
I tried hard refresh before and again. I cleared Edge “Cached images and files” for “All time”.
One thing that worked in Edge on only one PC was starting Developer Tools to see traffic. 
Search has worked for me since Jan 12 or so except for one brief outage (but without a hang).
