Release: 2.1.0.105 (Canary) 2025-01-07

Encountered this message in the live log:

Jan 16, 2025 1:00 PM: Failed to create a snapshot: Request to load AlphaVSS from a 32-bit process on a 64-bit operating system. This combination is not supported.

Is there a way to restore the menu to the left side of the window?

Then the files in the SYSTEM profile were probably fine, but you were in the wrong Duplicati.
Installing Duplicati offers to start one at the end, but itā€™s a TrayIcon, so might seem empty as

If those are old, then this guess is wrong. If the timestamps are recent, that supports the idea.

Full message doesnā€™t appear anywhere else on the Internet that I found. Maybe dev knows it.

Meanwhile, did you install a 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) Duplicati?

Iā€™ll need to check, but as the executables are in ā€œProgram FIles (x86)ā€ 32-bit is likely. I hadnā€™t realized there were 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Windows.

Update - 32-bit version. I will update it with the 64-bit version and re-do the service if/as needed.

FWIW, I had checked both port 8200 and 8300, and neither had the backup job.

Apparently this was due to the size of the display. I reduced the scaling and the menu is back on the left.

Replaced the 32-bit version with the 64-bit version and now all appears to be OK.

I am wondering if the original ā€œmissing backup jobā€ issue was also due to mistakenly installing the 32-bit version?

I guess that is possible if Windows somehow translates %LOCALAPPDATA% different for 32-bit processes?
