Hello,
Hope you can help me with this one. I have a notebook running Win 10 64 bits and it had Duplicati 2.1.7.1 running as service. It stopped working properly so I opened the GUI and received a message of release 2.0.8.1 is available. I tried performing the upgrade and failed without being able to start the tray icon.
I tried to uninstall service, uninstall whole Duplicati release and do a clean install of release 2.1.0.2.
I installed the service and tried to start the GUI and it said received Connection to server was rejected due to invalid authentication. Log in again, or re-open the page from the TrayIcon (if applicable) [Log in] [Reload]
I was not able to login so I went backwards uninstall everything and start from the very beginning in release 2.0.7.1 and I was not able to start either the Tray Icon nor access the localhost:8200 GUI page.
Please let me know what should be the correct steps to solve this issue. Which should be the correct release to be instalIed.
If any further information is needed, please let me know,
I have always used Duplicati as a Service in Windows and have used the tray icon to access the GUI and used password to login.
On previous updates to last release I was able to login with the same password used in previous releases, but in this particular notebook it was not possible and the problem is that I am not able to display or launch the Tray Icon. That is why I tries to reinstall from working release 2.0.7.1 but it did not work either.
At this point I removed duplicate from notebook as neither release worked so actually it does not matter which release I install, none will work. Is there something I should do in order to make the system forget that there was Duplicati installed and start from there?
Is there any third party software that needs to be installed or removed before trying again?
Assuming that’s login to the Windows service, you must have started with --no-hosted-server option, which can be easy to lose, e.g. if you let Duplicati recreate its shortcut on a fresh install.
If you start from a shortcut (how do you launch?), there’s not really any information displayable. Information is probably best in 2.1.0.2, started in Duplicati install folder from Command Prompt.
Duplicati.WindowsService.exe uninstall, then uninstall the app. Old autoupdates may remain, however 2.1.0.2 won’t use them. If you mean destroy current jobs and backups, there’s more.
I still think you should just look at 2.1.0.2 situation, e.g. by doing a manual launch of program:
