No files are backed up on Windows 10, but config seems to be fine #4374

No files are backed up. I select a single folder from the local C drive, and the NAS as destination (where I checked that the connection worked - it does).

After the back up runs “succesfully”, three files are stored at the remote location, having a size of 1 kb each.

I tested with / without encryption and tried out different local folders. I also tried the FTP connection to my NAS, but same result.

How large are the files in the source folder you had picked? The files stored in a destination will be compressed files, and not the original source files.

If that is not the case, and it’s several larger files, then we likely have a different issue. Permissions or something else.

In case someone stumbles on this problem from Google, here’s my solution:

Under “Source Data” I had an incomplete filter. It was “Exclude directories whose name contains” with no corresponding condition. My brain told me that without a condition, that filter would be ignored, but it wasn’t ignored and prevented all files from being backed up. Removing that empty filter allowed my backup to proceed as expected.
