After a

Failed: Found 5 files that are missing from the remote storage, please run repair

error during a job having mega.nz destination, I tried to repair the database, and I obtained the following message:

[Warning-Duplicati.Library.Main.Controller-MegaUnmaintained]: The Mega support library is currently unmaintained and may not work as expected. Mega has not published an official API so it may break at any moment. Please consider migrating to another backend.

I searched this string in the forum but not found any occurrence.
So I ask: should I avoid mega.nz as a backup destination?

Yes. Mega.nz has retracted their public API so it is no longer possible to reliably connect to Mega.nz from third-party applications.

So far they have not changed the API so everything works as before, but this could change at any moment.
