Mail sending failing after upgrade to Debian 11

Hello,

Since I upgraded my Debian from 10 to 11, trying to have a mail sent after backup creates a segfault. How can I get mail reports to work again?

Welcome to the forums @tieum_tieum,

I’m no Linux expert but your version of Mono probably changed in the upgrade. Somewhere around here there is post about what version of mono to use but I can’t find it currently. Maybe someone with a little more Linux knowledge will know the answer.

mono --version output might be helpful. Downloads are here, and release information here.
What Duplicati version is this?
The SEND-MAIL command can be run standalone from a shell. I wonder if that works or not?

I think that’s newer than fix for the old mono bug that crashed mail sending, but in a different manner.
There are definitely forum users running Debian 11, but I’m not sure what mono version they are on.

Maybe an upgrade to the current version would fix this, but it’s hard to say what it is. A crash report is
difficult for me to interpret when it’s working right, and this one is talking a lot about “(corrupt stack?)”.

I tried looking in GitHub Issues listings (e.g. MimeKit, MailKit, mono) but couldn’t find a relevant issue.

Got any other Debian 11 systems to play with? Without much to go on, chasing this could be difficult.

Got another email service? I don’t know MimeKit.ParserOptions, but maybe bug depends on settings.
