Yeah, the two docker images are quite different in where they place data. Personally I would stick with the official image but you’ll definitely need to update your mappings if you haven’t done so already.
I also have this running on a Synology NAS, as @ts678 mentioned. I have not seen the issues you describe but I also use a different back end.
