Can someone help me? I’m testing Duplicati because I want to back up data to my NAS and enable the VSS option. The problem is that this option requires administrator privileges, but the work PCs don’t have that level of access for security reasons. I’m looking for a way to bypass this—perhaps by having Duplicati run as an administrator without needing the password, or by running it as a service.

Generally, you cannot bypass the requirement. With a VSS snapshot a side-effect is that you effectively disable all access control, so anyone able to create a snapshot would be able to read all files. For that reason, the user needs the SeBackup privilege before they can create snapshots.
If you have permissions to setup Duplicati as a service, this fixes things.
