How to update from 2.0.6.3_beta_2021-06-17

Hi,

I’m still running version 2.0.6.3_beta_2021-06-17 on an Ubuntu Server. Since it’s quite old, I’m wondering if I can update it straight to 2.1.0.4 or if there are some additional steps I need to take.

The upgrade is automatic, so there should be no additional steps besides installing the new version. The first run will update databases and leave a copy with a timestamp in case you need to downgrade.

However, the new version changes quite a few things that may impact you:

  • No mono required
    You can delete the mono packages after installing 2.1.0.4
  • Mandatory API password
    You need to set a password.
  • New authentication
    The duplicati-client tool no longer works, but you can use ServerUtil for some of the tasks.
  • Websockets
    You may need to change proxy configuration if you are using this
