Error-Duplicati.Library.Main.Controller-FailedOperation

Hi - I updated Duplicati tot the latest version 2.2.0.3 yesterday and now my backups fail with the following:

"2026-01-23 15:38:43 -05 - [Error-Duplicati.Library.Main.Controller-FailedOperation]: The operation Backup has failed with error: Could not load type 'Duplicati.Library.Snapshots.UsnJournalService' from assembly 'Duplicati.Library.Snapshots, Version=2.2.0.3, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.\nTypeLoadException: Could not load type 'Duplicati.Library.Snapshots.UsnJournalService' from assembly 'Duplicati.Library.Snapshots, Version=2.2.0.3, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'."

This is on an Endeavour/Arch install. Could you please point me toward what I need to do to resolve this issue?

Could the above issue be related this the issue in this post?

The error here seems to be related to the USN support, which is only available on Windows anyway.

Are you sure all files are updated in the new versions?
What version did you update from?

This sounds like a packaging issue where a wrong version of a library is bundled, but I have not heard of anyone else reporting this, and 2.2.0.3 has been out a while.

I don’t think so, that error is related to not being able to start Duplicati, and it seems you can launch it fine, but the backups then fail.

I updated from the ARU repos. Since you mentioned a packaging issue, I did a reinstall and all is working correctly now. Thanks for your help!
