Email notifications from Mac

I have a Mac with an Apple M1 processor that runs Duplicati to backup a folder from a network shared drive to cloud storage on Google Drive and MS OneDrive.

I’ve been trying to set up email notifications using GMail. I’ve seen where to add information in Advanced Settings. Everything seems to be correct but emails are not sent. According to the log, it looks like it’s trying to send email but nothing is sent.

There’s a lot of recommendations about fixing this but none of them are working for me.

Any help is appreciated.

I figured it out. I needed to use an Application Specific Password for GMail. After changing the password it now works.
