Anyone think it could be useful for mass adoption, for Duplicati to be pre-packaged as a super lightweight virtual appliance? An ubuntu and/or fedora appliance that can deployed as a VMware or Hyper-V image? No setup process, just import, boot up, log into the web GUI, and go.
I know with the limitation of single stream backups I’ve created my own image to deploy as a VM or on older physical systems. Just wondering if it’s something others would find useful.
Sounds good, but I assume that a VM with the metioned GNU Linux options is not going to be lightweight at all, both are bloated in comparison to others have a look at
On the other hand, the most lightweight option is using a docker container instead, this is what I started using and works out quite well
