Let’s say I have a backup with source folder D:\xxx\
. Now if I change my drive letter from D to E, remove the aforementioned path, and add a new source path E:\xxx\
, will Duplicati reupload the files? Will the total size of the backup still stay the same?
Thank you.
Hi @toshiki , Duplicati uses de-duplication for all content, so it detects identical data no matter how it is created (copied, moved, renamed, etc).
If you change the drive letter it is essentially the same as renaming all files. It will be slightly slower to run the backup as Duplicati sees “new” files and scans them for changes, instead of just checking the file modification timestamp.
The remote size stays the same.
