DB Copy ON Backup start?

I have the impression that the DB ist copied into “Sicherung dbname date.sqlite” before start of Backup. Ist that correct?

If so, there is a bug on low diskspace: Instead of warning that the File cannot bei copied, there ist just later a Message that the Sicherung… File cannot be found.

File size and available Disk space could be known before copying, there should be a Disk space warning.

Generally, I think not. It would be slow and big. Backup DB is for special situations such as a Duplicati version upgrade that requires changing structure of DB. Backup is a precaution.

If you see a consistent DB copy at start of any backup, please say, otherwise you can open a new issue in GitHub to ask for a space check at this time when space exhaustion is likely.

Forum posts are too many to track and prioritize, but thank you for making that suggestion.
