Changing existing backup sftp username and password

Hi,
I’m currently backing up a server via sftp to an offsite Freenas using the root account. I’ve read that this is a really bad idea and that I should user a dedicated user that doesn’t have su access. So in freenas I created a new user strictly for backups with a new password and updated my Duplicati Backup configuration. I tested the connection and it said everything is fine. I’m just curious if there is anything else I need to do before the next backup this evening?

Thanks,
Robert

Yeah using root is a bad practice, so switching to a different (hopefully non-privileged) account is s good change.

Only thing I can think of is you may need to change ownership of the files on the sftp server.

Great thank you so much, worked like a charm.
