I have several backups and set them all to be executed at a specific time all workdays and also automatically when time was missed .
Here’s what happen s:
Backups are executed at the set time when the computer is on and the Duplicati tab o pen
They are not executed when the computer is on and the Duplicati tab not open (but still running in system t ray)
Consequently, they are also not executed at a later point in case my pc was not on at the time
It used to work fine on my old computer running on Win10 with an older version of Duplicati. This problem now was there from the start of using my new Win11 computer (and obviously a new version of Duplicati).
So I wonder if it has something to do with Windows’ settings of auto execution of programmes or the like. I’m not getting any errors reports from neither Duplicati nor W indows. I’m glad for any ideas!
I believe this is down to the newer version of Duplicati.
I’m still on Windows 10 (with Chrome) and the current Duplicati shows this behaviour some of the time (the old version worked fine). I have the “Pause after startup” set to ten minutes.
After a Windows restart I wait 15-20 minutes and then check Duplicati. About one time in three it will show “Paused”, so I click that to restart it.
With luck this will get fixed in a future version, but for me it’s only a minor annoyance: just another task to complete following a restart.
In my case, it never is marked on pause when I check it… it basically acts as though nothing has happened and next backup is up for the scheduled time.
I find this automation to be really one of the core features of a good backup software. You’ve set it once and then you don’t have to think about it again.
