I am trying to set up a backup using Dropbox. When I enter a destination, the system accepts it but then uses its own default (I believe) to save the data and the dB. What is the correct syntax to use so the system will accept the location I choose for the data storage?

This needs clarification. Is it [GUI](https://docs.duplicati.com/getting-started/set-up-a-backup-in-the-ui#id-2.-storage-destination) (which is a form) or [CLI](https://docs.duplicati.com/duplicati-programs/command-line-interface-cli) (which has more syntax)?

Why do you believe that?

This is completely separate from Destination. In GUI, the [Database](https://docs.duplicati.com/detailed-descriptions/the-local-database) has its own page.

Are you asking about `Destination path`? Type a folder or slash-separated folders.

From [another forum post](https://forum.duplicati.com/t/setting-up-with-dropbox/7271), viewing from Dropbox might see your folder under its own.

[Dropbox Destination](https://docs.duplicati.com/backup-destinations/file-synchronization-providers/dropbox-destination) is the CLI URL version of what I said. GUI’s form simplifies that.
