Manual command is here and I point to it mainly because that page gives the options you can put in the backup’s web UI to control how aggressively compact runs. This is an example of really forcing compact, for a special purpose. Compaction requires a lot of downloads and uploads as backed up data gets repackaged, so storage provider charges may be a factor.
