Duplicati 2.3 brings a new much needed feature, Multiple Backup Destinations, which allows a single job to backup a single set of files to a local disk + cloud in one go. Currently, I have two separate backup jobs created - one that backs up a set of files to local disk, a second that backs up the same set of files to S3 Glacier. **Is there an upgrade path by which I can “merge” these two jobs, and use the new multiple backup destinations feature**?

The merger would allow me to preserve past backups and history for the two old jobs without having to start an entirely new chain.

Not directly in that setup. Since this is two different backups, they cannot be mixed as the blocks are distributed randomly between the two backups.

Since the expensive/slow part is the Glacier one, you can consider downloading all the files from Glacier to the local disk. Then set up the backup to target the local disk, with Glacier as a second destination. Then repair the database and continue the backup.

This will cause Duplicati to continue the backups, and not require new data uploads as the files are already present.

Beware that Glacier retrieval can be costly, so try to estimate the costs first.

Thank you for the answer. I will keep my existing 2-job setup for now, and will use the multiple destinations feature in the future if I need a new full backup.
