The backup storage destination is missing data files

There is a similar case from last year where @kenkendk provided some advice but we never heard back from the user

Looking at the output, it appears that there is some remote data missing. This would explain why some files have a length, but the data in the database is missing, giving length=0. Normally, purge-broken-files could be used to fix it, but since the database was recreated, it is flagged as “incomplete” which prevents it from running. Do you know what the original error messages were like? I am guessing they were something like “missing remote files”. If my hunch is correct, you should be able…

I am trying to adopt a backup archive, i.e. I have an archive (in the cloud) to which I previously backed up my drive D. But I don’t have any traces of that backup job locally anymore. So I created a new backup job and pointed it at the folder in the cloud that contains the previous backup archive.
