Hi all,
I recently updated Duplicati, and now it’s asking me to sign in. I don’t remember ever setting a password. The help page seems mostly geared toward people backing up to servers, but I just use Duplicati to back up my laptop to an external hard drive.
How can I keep using it like before?
Thank you very much,
Have a nice day,
How did you use it before? If you do the default install, you just open from the TrayIcon, without having to set a password or sign in. If you prefer direct browse, you can open by TrayIcon once and then set password in Settings. For Windows service, setup is harder.
As @ts678 mentions, it is possible to just click the TrayIcon.
The use of the access password is new in 2.1, and required to keep your data safe.
There is a guide for how to deal with the access password in various scenarios, including the TrayIcon one:
Oops sorry, I had no clue what a Traylcon was, and indeed it was super easy.
So for the noobs like me who might read this, its the small icon in the notification zone (bottom right of the screen on Windows), you might need to click on the little arrow to see it.
Sorry again and thanks a lot !
