Please add new extensions in default_compressed_extensions.txt

Hi,

Thank you for the great software.

“A PAK file is an archive used by video games such as Quake, Hexen, Crysis, Far Cry, and Half-Life. It may include graphics, objects, textures, sounds, and other game data “packed” into a single file . PAK files are often just a renamed .ZIP file.”

“A VPK file is a Valve Pak file used by some games developed with the Source Engine.”

So please add, these:

.pak #Game Data Packed File
.vpk #Valve Packed File

In:
default_compressed_extensions.txt

Compressed Game files

Thank You.

Hi @zulqar, welcome to the forum!

You seem to know what’s what with were the extensions need to get put, have you considered adding them to the for GitHub and doing a PR (Pull Request) yourself? :-[

We’re always looking for more help…

Oh, one thing to consider - though you’ve shown .pak and .vpk are known to be game pack files, did you notice if they were known for also being something else (even on MacOS and Linux)?
