I was reading through some semi-recent things and I noticed that it appears that an option has been added to suppress certain Hyper-V warnings when running on non-server versions of Windows: [Suppress crash-consistency warnings for Windows 10/11 Client Hyper-V VM backups · Issue #5692 · duplicati/duplicati · GitHub](https://github.com/duplicati/duplicati/issues/5692)

I’m not very fluent with how GitHub works, but am I correct that this change has made it into the current stable version?

If so, how does one use it? I can’t find it anywhere in the options list in the UI, nor does supplying “–hyperv-ignore-client-warning=true” manually appear to do anything either.

Have I misunderstood all of this?

It went into `master` on Nov 25, but by then, release branches were in use.

If you’re on Stable, you can sort of see this from About → Changelog, where Canary releases happen until 2.1.0.0\_experimental\_2024-11-15, but after that you don’t see the Canary detail.

Those who like all the latest work can stay Canary, but branch gets only a hand-picked subset.
Apparently this one didn’t make the cut. It was actually release noted in Canary though, below:

> [@Release: 2.1.0.100 (Canary) 2024-11-25](https://forum.duplicati.com/t/release-2-1-0-100-canary-2024-11-25/19560/1):

Thanks, it looks like I’m just a little bit early.

I worked around this years ago by just having Hyper-V VMs keep all their storage in a single location and pointing Duplicati at that location instead of using the built-in Hyper-V tools on client versions of Windows.

It’s been the way it is for years, I can wait longer.
