Missed jobs start the moment the computer is powered on

Subject : Missed jobs start the moment the computer is powered on.

This question is similar to but not the same as the thread started by TitaniumCoder477 named “Jobs run immediately upon launching program instead of on schedule”.

Currently two jobs run per day on my laptop. Generally speaking everything works fine whilst my laptop is in the office. The jobs get backed up to a NAS.

When I travel the NAS is no longer on the local area network so the jobs do not run without error. This is as expected.

The problem occurs when I return with the laptop to the office.

As soon as I power on the laptop the first of the jobs starts to run. This is a problem as my VPN (Virtual Private Network) usually has not run, and, even if it has, I do not get time to respond to the VPN. On one occasion my whole system “locked up”. This delay can also occur when the operating system is trying to update.

I would like to see a delay, of say 5 minutes, before the jobs try to run.

Is there any way to achieve that?

Use the Settings screen:

That title should say wake, not hibernation. It applies to other System Sleeping States too.

Thank you for that reply. I have now made your suggested change.
