there is a lock file so it seems that it’s failing a locked file. You are only posting a small extract so it’s difficult to be sure.
Anyway, have you set shapshot-policy or any oi the vss-* options ? if not, Duplicati should try to create a snapshot allowing to backup open files, so if it’s failing there should be an error about failed snapshot in the Windows error log, do you see any ?
I don’t quite remember if these errors are going into the system (I think) or in the Application log.

Yes I think it means that you are not using snapshots. It’s understandable since the default is to run Duplicati as the current user who will not have enough rights to do snapshots anyway.
So it’s needed to setup Duplicati as a service and then set the policy-strategy option to ‘required’ (to produce an error if snapshotting the computer fails).

I set up Duplicati as a service by:

Apparently that worked: services.msc shows duplicati-service as running.
The account I am using has administrator rights.
Duplicati then produced the same warnings.

I guess that has to be done in gpedit.msc, but I don’t know which setting i have to change. (Google wasn’t helpful)
no that’s a advanced Duplicati option (General options / advanced / kernel options)
Setting it to
requiredwill make Duplicati abort the backup if the snapshot creation fails. On Windows this uses the Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) and requires administrative privileges.
That’s how you read locked files. Options screen 5 → Advanced options → under Core options
