# Is database retention delay normal? Duplicati - 2.0.3.9\_canary\_2018-06-30

I am 4 days ago recreating a database is normal the delay? look at the logs and is working;

I don’t know that I’d call it “normal”, but yes it’s possible a database recreate can take multiple days. This is a known issue that happens for some users that we haven’t been able to fully pin down yet.

A while ago I simulated the need for a database recreate on an 853MB database (~1T source files) and it took about 4.3 days to rebuild:
