Wouldn’t it make more sense to store the settings in another folder instead? It doesn’t seem like the best idea to store important settings in a folder that Windows will be wiping out regularly (it seems like Microsoft is doing two “big” updates every year).
Apparently windows.old automatically gets deleted after a month. If people aren’t regularly checking Duplicati, that could be a problem.
