After my first installation of Duplicati on my PC, using as remote place a storage in a commercial cloud that is also OK for private users, all sorts of problems occcurred - partially due to misunderstandings - and all sort of actions supposed to repair the “wounds” did not solve all bad effects. So I deinstalled Duplicati, but after reinstalling D. it still showed a problematic behaviour because some memories of old staff was found somewhere. What must one do so that Duplicati after re-install. is like a baby without memory of earlier things?
Welcome to the forum @UlysseK
If you haven’t deleted the old Database. you’ll likely get this on backup run:
Found # files that are missing from the remote storage, please run repair
Database management in the old manual describes some usage better, but
Click job to open larger menu
Click Database to open page
Click Delete button
will delete the job database for that job, while leaving job configuration intact.
This is a reasonable thing to do if you are starting with an empty Destination.
If you have managed to move Destination files somehow, best plan will differ.
If you need it cleaner than that, there is a Configuration button for job Delete.
If you need it cleaner than that, you can manually delete folder with database.
Extremely clean means you get to recreate configuration, e.g. from old Export.
If none of this matches the problem, please describe the problem a little more.
It seems that this has solved my problem … thanks
