# How to remove tray icon Ubuntu linux? Impossible?

Hello! I use Ubuntu, but any linux guide would be helpful.  
**How do I remove the tray icon?** I do not want to keep seeing it.

Of course I still want the backup to run in the background automatically and routinely as it already is.

Welcome to the forums Gandalf.

You should be able to setup Duplicati to run as a service. [This thread](https://forum.duplicati.com/t/installing-duplicati-on-linux-ubuntu-linuxlite/743) looks to cover the process.

Once installed as a service, remove the trayicon from launch and access the GUI via [http://localhost:8200/ngax/index.html](http://localhost:8200/ngax/index.html)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you’ll need to change any icons that you use to launch Duplicati so they have the `--no-hosted-server` switch.
