I think 1, 2, 3, and 4 assume asymmetric encryption. By default Duplicati uses symmetric encryption, so there is no private key, just as shared password. You can use asymmetric encryption as explained here: If you use asymmetric encryption, the key is handled by GPG and not stored in Duplicati. Is that from a shell? If so, I worry if the --gpg-encryption-switches line might get split improperly.

HI @AnatomicJC, You might have a gpg-agent running, which might keep your key unlocked. If that is the case, you will not be asked for a password. If you are not sure you have an agent running, fastest way is to eg. try a restore on a different machine. Regards, Wim
