Based on the latest information on the forum, and suitably small backup set I confirmed this again and now in steps, with restore test between each step.
- Compact fails - Restore still works
- Backup stops working - Restore still works
- Run repair - Restore still works
- Run compact again - Now backup is broken.
So it’s exactly like I said in the very first post. Systemic logical error which makes the backups unrestorable.
It’s fixed when it’s fixed. Acknowledged. And it’s exactly as bad trap as I said it would be.
But it’s still interesting why test claims it’s not broken.
