# Failed to restore

i need help

when I try to restore the information, the message from recreated database has mising blocks and 4 broken filelists appears and does not retrieve any information

Missing blocks are never good news. That might be actual file data. How big a restore do you need? Possibly you can steer around damage with [direct restore](https://duplicati.readthedocs.io/en/latest/03-using-the-graphical-user-interface/#restoring-files-if-your-duplicati-installation-is-lost) which builds a partial temporary database.

Getting backups back up again will take a full database. Was there a prior problem before Recreate?  
Are old backup versions quite important? If so, other tools exist. If not, starting again may be easiest.
