The first word about “notification” was here. As seen below, I didn’t even know the other thread’s location, however if I had known it was the release announcement, that’s an even worse spot to do detailed debug.

Please continue the notification topic elsewhere, and if you continue it, please include some screenshots.

I didn’t get update, I got notification about the new beta, and even though I have already dismissed the notification, I got it again, possibly after rebooting. I already updated my release channel setting, but that didn’t help with the notification, I still got it. This insistence may trick some users, I warn you.

Above would be why I answered, and probably would have been a better time to force a new topic for that. Apologies to readers for diverting, but I hope some of the detail on behavior and screens has been useful.

Usually you are very careful with your references, but here you lapsed, and I corrected you on the wording I had used in the other thread that you refer to here. And then I regretted letting you to begin the diversion by answering instead of stopping you.

Let’'s say we are both complicit, and leave it at that.
