It is supported by SQLite for legacy reasons, but it is encouraged to compile without this compatibility mode on by default. FreeBSD disables this in the new sqlite packages: https://www.reddit.com/r/freebsd/comments/1chb82b/sqlite3_pkg_just_became_stricter_with_quoting/ For example, this uses the wrong quotes for `Temporary`: https://github.com/duplicati/duplicati/blob/54b9063f1ba807c78c1f31f412d36c0a803aff87/Duplicati/Library/Main/Database/LocalRecreateDatabase.cs#L708 All statements should be looked at and changed to the correct quotes. Also, the legacy mode should be disabled on all platforms in the SQLite config to prevent hidden bugs in the future.

2.0.9.101_canary_2024-06-27 changes Duplicati quoting:

Fixed SQL quotes and added quote guard to SQL queries, thanks @Jojo-1000

but Canary releases are not recommended for production. Beta or better schedule is TBD.
