# Backup files only if modification date \> certain date in the past

To toss in another option for Linux, thanks to the `find` command, you could enumerate the files that meet your criteria, and feed the paths into the [–changed-files](https://duplicati.readthedocs.io/en/latest/06-advanced-options/#changed-files) option. If it chokes on size, do in [–parameters-file](https://duplicati.readthedocs.io/en/latest/06-advanced-options/#parameters-file).

[Real-time backup](https://forum.duplicati.com/t/real-time-backup/263/12) isn’t really what you’re seeking, but the idea of carefully creating a file list is found there.
